Kids at SWITCH Policy
The following is a summary of the eligibility requirements when working with children.
Kids in Gym Policy
16 to 17 Years
- Eligible to participate in all group fitness classes.
- Eligible to participate in unsupervised resistance training.
- Eligible to use cardiovascular equipment unsupervised.
14 to 15 Years
- Parent/guardian signature on membership contract required.
- Must complete pre-exercise screen questionnaire prior to commencement of any program.
- Parent/guardian must sign pre-exercise screen questionnaire as well as child.
- Eligible to participate in group fitness classes that are non-weights based.
- Not eligible to participate in unsupervised resistance training or weights-based group fitness classes.
- Eligible to participate in supervised resistance training on provision that: - Pre-exercise screen (ExPARA) has been assessed by qualified staff member - an initial resistance training program has been written and is to be supervised by a qualified member of staff or parent.
- Eligible to use cardiovascular equipment unsupervised.
12 to 13 Years
- Parent/guardian must sign questionnaire on behalf of child/young adolescent
- Must complete pre-exercise screen questionnaire prior to commencement of any program.
- Eligible to participate in supervised group fitness classes that are non-weights based.
- Not eligible to participate in unsupervised resistance training or weights-based group fitness classes.

Kids in Gym Policy – Group Fitness Classes
16 to 17 Years
- Eligible to participate in all group fitness classes.
14 to 15 Years
- Eligible to participate in the following group fitness classes unsupervised: Fit Boxing, RPM, Metafit, Yoga, Yogalates, Body Balance, Aqua, Swimfit.
12 to 13 Years
- Eligible to participate in the following group fitness classes with supervision: RPM, Metafit, Fit Boxing, Yoga, Yogalates, Body Balance, Aqua, Swimfit.
