What is Futsal?
Futsal is a fast and exciting form of five-a-side indoor soccer that is officially approved by FIFA and Football Federation Australia. It’s one of the fastest-growing sports on Earth, and boasts millions of junior and senior players around the world.
Games are always fast-paced and played on indoor netball-sized courts with five players each side including the goalkeeper. The special feature of the game is the unique properties of the ball, which has a low bounce. It spends less time in the air and allows the development of excellent player ball skills. And of course being indoors we don’t have to worry about rainy weather!
In Futsal, players receive more constructive touches on the ball, which helps develop excellent individual ball skills and tricks. Players are constantly placed in demanding, decision-making situations in limited space. As a result, Futsal is a great overall skill developer, demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pinpoint passing under pressure.
Futsal is an exciting and fun game for children as well as adults. Play can often change from attacks on one goalmouth to ‘fast break attacks’ at the opposition goalmouth in the space of three or four seconds! No wonder the spectators love it too.
